Thirty-one-year Tamica Thomas told police on December 28th that her son had left their High Street home about 5:30 that evening to go to McDonalds and didn’t return.
Nelsonville Police began searching for Corey Morris, but he returned home the next morning on his own.
According to city spokesman Dan Pfieffer, the boy had been staying with a friend without his family’s knowledge. He returned home after friends received the alerts that he was missing.
Athens Municipal Court records show the Endangering charge was filed against Thomas on January 13th and an arrest warrant was issued on January 18th. She was arrested Thursday evening.
