Account Executive Position

WATH, Inc. is looking for salespeople who have good communication and organizational skills. Applicants should be a self-starter, organized, enthusiastic and personable.

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Selling airtime using solid arguments to prospective customers
• Maintaining positive business relationships to ensure future sales
• Reaching out to customer leads through cold calls

Traffic/Office Assistant

WATH Inc. is looking for a dedicated person to help with office administration tasks and traffic, on a part-time basis. Applicant must have basic knowledge of common office equipment (ie: copier, scanner, multi-line phone systems, etc), have attention to detail and be personable.

Social Media and Website Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Coordinator to join our team.

As a Social Media Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our Social Media strategy in order to increase our online presence and improve our marketing and sales efforts.

You will be working closely with the production and sales departments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include and is not limited to:

Disc Jockey (DJ)

We are searching for a radio DJ to host live shows and pre-recorded segments. The radio DJ should work with the music director and stay on format, read paid advertisements, and discuss prominent affairs. Additionally, the radio DJ should help protect the station’s FCC license and converse with the listeners on remotes and call-in shows.

To ensure success as a radio DJ, you should be a high-energy and well-spoken individual.

Radio DJ Responsibilities:

  • Playing requested and hand-selected songs.
  • Reading advertisements and weather forecasts verbatim.
  • Reviewing traffic and music logs daily.
  • Researching popular entertainment and news stories.
  • Delivering unique segments and interviews.
  • Interviews guests, converses with callers, and hosts live events.
  • Avoiding vulgar speech and discussions about taboo phenomena.
  • Makes regular approved appearances at paid, and non-paid, station events. Is an ambassador for radio station when out in public; maintains a positive and approachable attitude when around listeners and clients.
  • Assists with voice over and production of paid and non-paid spots required to run on the station.
  • Checks studio equipment for proper functioning and notifies Engineering of technical malfunctions affecting quality of the broadcast.
  • Handles emergency inserts (e.g. news updates and breaking stories, emergencies, alert system tests, etc.); is on call for possible disasters, breaking news, or acts of nature.

Music Director

Job Summary:

We are looking for someone with natural leadership ability. The ideal candidate would have programming, on-air, digital/social, production and producing experience. The person must be equally knowledgeable of the science behind programming as they are with the art of programming.

This person supports the Program Director in all aspects of the radio station’s on-air experience including, talent, content, programming, sound & theme, and online and social presence.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors programming activities in conformance with FCC rules and regulations.
  • Informs Program Director of any anomalies or deficiencies that may warrant correction or resolution.
  • Ensure logged commercials, promotions and any other programming essential to the stations operation are aired.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding indecency and obscenity.
  • Works an approved and previously agreed upon air shift.
  • Keeps up-to-date with relevant material appropriate for the station.
  • Searches out and shares all possible digital content with Program Director and Social Media Coordinator
  • Participates in regular listening/air check sessions for critique with DJs.
  • Participates in required station Programming and Sales staff meetings and events.
  • Makes regular approved appearances at paid, and non-paid, station events. Is an ambassador for radio station when out in public; maintains a positive and approachable attitude when around listeners and clients.
  • May work flexible hours and weekends and be on call for possible disasters, breaking news, or acts of nature.
  • Schedule music and check social media to ensure music remains consistent with station’s brand, and may collaborate with production to provide musical direction.
  • Establishes relationship with listeners by providing entertainment and/or information of interest consistent with format, genre, and targeted demographic audience.
  • Interviews guests, converses with callers, and hosts live events.
  • Adheres to all guidelines, policies and procedures of the station, the FCC and all other federal, state and local laws, including policies and procedures regarding indecency and obscenity.
  • Ensures logged commercials, promotions and any other programming essential to the stations operation are aired.
  • Maintains a website personality page.
  • Assists with voice over and production of paid and non-paid spots required to run on the station.
  • Finalizes content using digital audio editing software.
  • Checks studio equipment for proper functioning and notifies Engineering of technical malfunctions affecting quality of the broadcast.
  • Handles emergency inserts (e.g. news updates and breaking stories, emergencies, alert system tests, etc.); is on call for possible disasters, breaking news, or acts of nature.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking
  • Proficient in media production and broadcast systems; familiar with AudioVault FLEX and MusicDirector
  • Strong knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations
  • Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions
  • Demonstrated upbeat personality, informative, entertaining and engaging on the air; able to relate to station audience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and editing skills; proficient in grammar; ability to make others feel comfortable and open up on air
  • Demonstrated creativity and imagination. Self Starter
  • Able to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations and personalities
