Tulip Poplar Bark Basket Class

Learn how to make your own Tulip Poplar Bark Berry Baskets.

In the Appalachian region, Tulip Poplar bark is the most commonly used material to create these containers. The class will cover what other tree barks can be used, best season to harvest, as well as sustainable harvesting practices.

Each student will get to peel off the bark & gain the on hands on experience of harvesting the material & leave with a berry bucket of their own.

To join please:

Register by July 1st by emailing: reachout@talcon-quinn.com & pay a $25 class deposit by either a check sent to 101 Main Street, The Plains, Ohio 45780 or PayPal to reachout@talcon-quinn.com.
$25 is due upon registration and the remaining class fee is due upon arrival ($50-$150 minus the deposit). The sliding scale is one way I try to make my class offerings available to more people. When those who can pay more do, it allows others to pay what they can.

Class size will be limited to 15 and taught either outdoors or inside in well ventilated rooms at the Federal Valley Resource Center. Masks will be required and all students must agree to be mindful of Covid safety precautions such as social distancing and abstaining from participating should they feel ill or have exposure to Covid 19 the week before the class.

Thank you for your compassionate understanding. We are striving to create a safe healthy space for learning together.

The event is finished.
