On Wednesday, August 4, and Saturday, August 7, the Athens Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m.-noon outside the Market on State (1002 E. State Street). In addition to the weekly food and art vendors, the market will host live music from local musicians, food demonstrations and samples, and more. Ohio University’s Rufus will be making an appearance at the Wednesday market at 10 a.m., and on Saturday, Community Food Initiative’s Donation Station will host a 50/50 raffle. There will also be special activities for kids, including favors from Hopewell Health Centers, a chalk mural on Wednesday and a coloring station to make thank you cards for farmers on Saturday.
