Two Glouster Police officers have been fired and one is facing a drunk driving charge after a crash in Athens County.
The State Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Ryan Keeney of Nelsonville lost control of his pick-up truck around 5:15 a. m. Monday on State Route 685 and struck a house.
The patrol says the house sustained quite a bit of damage, but no one was injured.
A part-time Glouster Police officer, Joshua Duewell of Millfield, was a passenger in the pick-up.
Glouster Mayor Myles Wolf says Keeney, who was a full time officer, and Duewell were both in their probationary period. They were fired yesterday following an internal investigation.
Wolf says both have been found to be negligent in their conduct which led to an automobile accident. And he says both had a lapse in judgement which resulted in conduct unbecoming of a police officer.
The patrol says Keeney refused to take a blood alcohol test. Ohio law allows someone who refuses the test to be charged with OVI.
