Connor Mills

The voice from New Jersey has found a home here in Athens, Ohio. Connor has worked his way up at the station and is the Production and Sports Director. He will have a degree in Journalism after the conclusion of the Fall 2020 semester at Ohio University.

 

He is the host of the SportsFan on 970 WATH and the Hugh White Honda of Athens and Lancaster Football Friday Night Post Game Show on WXTQ. Additionally, he is the play-by-play voice for Athens basketball, baseball and the Athens County Game of the Week on Power 105.

 

Before becoming full-time, Connor served as the on-field host for Ohio Football and on-court emcee for Ohio Men’s Basketball. He also was the public address announcer for Ohio Baseball, Swimming and Diving, Track and Field, and Softball.

 

His first broadcast experience was on ESPN+ as the Color Commentator for Ohio Bobcat wrestling and eventually became the lead voice. Connor also worked/learned public address announcing from his mentor, Ken Berger, the public address announcer for the previous four summer Olympics (04, 08, 12, 16). They announced together for the Beast of the East wrestling tournament, Kinetic Multisports triathlons and announced atop Pier 17 in New York City for Beat the Streets.

 

Connor was awarded the Golden Microphone from his high school and is a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American.
